This is to certify, that Charles Phelps of the Town of Hadley, in the County of Hampshire and District of Massachusetts, Esquire, hath paid the duty of three dollars upon a two wheel carriage, called a Chaise, owned by himself of Hadley, having a top, to be drawn by one horse, for the conveyance of more than one person ; for the year to end on the 30th of September, 1799.
