Publishing a Map with ArcPublisher
ArcPublisher, which is a component of ArcGIS, allows for
the publication of an interactive map--it's zoomable, mouseovers show
map tips, and labels appear and disappear according to the scale. Maps
published with ArcPublisher have a .pmf extension and can be read with
ArcReader, which is a free download from www.esri.com. However, a published
map contains links to the map data, so that the files on which its based
need to be included with the pmf file. The only way we've found that works
here is to put the pmf file and the associated data on storage or on the
K: drive. It's not something that at this time you can do yourself. You
can see an example of this at: file://///storage/ccsp/ccsp15/janetsmaps/capitalmap/worldmap.pmf.
This works only in Internet Explorer. This map is strictly for demonstration
and may have some data improperly coordinated.
