Horse Rase - n.d.

I. HORSE RASE
"Now for the horse rase," shouted the comadore, "Give room."

The spectaters parted and one could see walled in by the throng five horse men, three of which you would have reckonized as members of the See Foam Club, one of which was Comadore Allen in his gay uniform. The other two were you would perceive were members of the Victory Club with their cadet caps, they were mounted on little stout build American horces. The comadore was in a bieutiful Arabian colt.

"Give room," shouted the comodore and at the word the five horse men dashed of scattering pebbles and makeing dust fly the gay comadore came boldly rideing ahead and his horses head flying higher than any other around the [goal?] and now on the home stretch Ethan Allen the comadore was ahead and all moste side beside [side by side] the rest galloped along and cheers rang out all over the island. All but from one little group of small boys in red and white caps, they were members of the Victory Club and they saw their men getting beat and I will tell how it came out briefly.

II. GOSHEN
Goshen is the pretiest town
That there is around
Its pretty ponds and brooks
Its mountains and its woods
Its enough to make one glad
Though he is ever so sad
If you ramble through the fields
You may see how it feels

The next day Molly went to school it was the day before Valentines Day. She stopped before Donwood's store and looked at the valentines.

4. With gilt around the out side (Oh! Oh! Mama who gave me this) "I guess Grace gave it to you.["] Many little girls had some two [sic] and now my little readers try and be eaven mor thought full than Grace was.
